ITIL® Intermediate Qualification: RCV Certificate is a freestanding qualification, and is also part of the ITIL® Intermediate Capability stream. It is one of the modules leading to the ITIL® Expert qualification in IT Service Management. The purpose of this course and the associated exam and certificate is to impart, test, and validate the knowledge on industry practices in Service Management as documented in the ITIL® Service Lifecycle core publications. The ITIL® Certificate in RCV is intended to enable candidates to apply RCV for successful planning, testing and implementation of new services meeting organizational and user requirements.

ITIL® Intermediate - RCV

The intermediate level of ITIL offers a role based hands-on experience and in-depth coverage of the contents.

The Release, Control and Validation (RCV) module is one of the qualifications in the ITIL® Service Capability work stream. The module focuses on the practical application of RCV practices in order to enable the successful planning, testing and implementation of new services that meet the organization’s or users’ needs. The RCV course is designed to develop organizations’ or individuals’ understanding of the ITIL Service Transition processes. It can ensure transitional changes are effectively managed, new services are validated and tested and that release and deployment fulfil organizational requirements. RCV also provides guidance on evaluating change and managing knowledge to improve decision-making processes.

Certification Levels

The ITIL® certification scheme provides a modular approach to the ITIL framework, and is comprised of a series of qualifications focused on different aspects of ITIL best practice to various degrees of depth and detail. The tiered structure of the qualification offers candidates flexibility relating to the different disciplines and areas of ITIL and the ability to focus their studies on key areas of interest. Hold the ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management (or other appropriate earlier ITIL and bridge qualifications) A basic IT literacy and around 2 years IT experience are highly desirable.
